In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the bZ4X are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Gravity doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the bZ4X AWD’s standard Downhill Assist Control allows you to creep down safely. The Gravity doesn’t offer Downhill Assist Control.

The bZ4X has standard Safety Connect™, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Gravity doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the bZ4X and the Gravity have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Toyota bZ4X has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2025 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, and a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test. The Gravity has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2025.

There are almost 62 times as many Toyota dealers as there are Lucid Motors dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the bZ4X’s warranty.

The Toyota bZ4X may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1050 to 1250 pounds less than the Lucid Motors Gravity.

The bZ4X is 1 foot, 1.6 inches shorter than the Gravity, making the bZ4X easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The bZ4X is 5.5 inches narrower than the Gravity, making the bZ4X easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the bZ4X’s rear seats recline. The Gravity’s middle row seats don’t recline.

The bZ4X has a much larger cargo volume than the Gravity with its rear seat up (27.7 vs. 25 cubic feet).

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the bZ4X Limited’s liftgate can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Gravity doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its liftgate, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The bZ4X has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Gravity doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

If the windows are left open on the bZ4X the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. (This window function must be activated by your Toyota service department.) The driver of the Gravity can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The bZ4X’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Gravity’s power mirror controls are embedded in the infotainment system, seriously distracting drivers who have to adjust them while driving.

The bZ4X is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Gravity doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
